BI-COLOUR CAKE


If there is a thing that baking has thought us is that there is lot of room for creativity.

Even staying in the comfort zone of a simple cake, experimenting is key and fun in the same time.

Before developing the recipe we are most pleased with, we play a lot with ingredients. Reaching our expectations in a cake is not easy. You are always tempted to add more sugar, more nutella, more butter, but all these ingredients have to find a balance and one cannot overpower the other.

This cake is lovely to do with children, they love seeing the different colours in the mixture and when the cake is out of the oven their face of surprise is priceless.


INGREDIENTS


150 gr plain flour

10 gr of baking powder

3 eggs

1 pinch of salt

100 gr of white sugar

90 gr butter

85 gr of milk

2 spoons of nutella


METHOD


Preheat the oven to 170 degrees C

Butter a regular plumcake loaf

Whisk the butter, the sugar and the pinch of salt until you have a creamy and soft mixture

Add one egg per time until it gets absorbed

Add the flour spoon after spoon with the baking powder

Once the flour is absorbed add the milk and keep mixing

Take another bowl and move 1/3 of the mixture in it

In the 2/3 bowl add 50 gr of flour and mix it

In the 1/3 bowl add two spoons of nutella and mix it with a spatula

Pour the plain mixture in the cake pan and after add the mixture with nutella.

Mix the colours now with the help of a spoon

Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean
